Just Say No
Most of you are probably not aware that health food stores generally carry
drug-cleansing products to help drug users pass drug detection tests.
About 15 million people will be drug tested by their employers this year.
Some will lose their jobs. Drug users attempt to pass drug tests by
using these drug-flushing products, which are sold at many health food stores.
It’s big business and most health foods stores welcome it. Linda Lou’s does not!
When starting Linda Lou's, my very first decision was that I would not go for
the easy income
by carrying any drug cleansing products. Each month we politely tell dozens of
drug users that we do not carry these products. The sheer volume of
people asking for them is staggering. The decision to not carry these
products cost Linda Lou’s hundreds of dollars each month.
While we do not wish for anyone to lose their jobs, we are not in the
business of helping people evade drug detection. The issue is a simple one for me:
It is simply unethical to carry a drug-cleansing product in a store that
promotes health.

Drug flushing products essentially strip or mask chemicals in your body.
This process is not remotely healthy. We are in the business of helping people
find products that will allow them to live healthier lives and
drug cleansing products are a direct contradiction to our mission.
If our competitors, wish to carry these products, that is their decision,
but we will not because it is contrary to our mission. We also do not want
to be responsible for accidents in the work place as the result of someone
passing a drug test
using a product purchased from our store.
